Eaton I-on 10-50 Zone Expandable control panel https://www.securitywarehouse.co.uk/catalog/intruder-alarm-equipment-c-36/security-control-panels-c-36_102/110-input-zone-small-c-36_102_101/eaton-ion-1050-zone-expandable-control-panel-p-5752.html Will this work with radio smoke detectors? Is this compatible with manual fire alarm call points? And finally will this need some sort of relay box to work with a speech dialer? Thanks.

Hi I have installed a Visonic Powermaster 30 and an LCD keypad KP250 I read in some KP-250 documents a reference to "Input Voltage (V DC) - 12" under "Power Description" section. The electronics board in fact shows "DC IN" next to a 2 pin JST H2 connector. I was wondering if: the lcd keypad can in fact be powered up from an external power source? if affirmative, what is the connector pinout (positive and negative pins)? and voltage to apply is the stated 12v? thanks in advance r.

I am working on a project with one of our clients. We are installing Gallagher system for them - https://security.gallagher.com/. One of their requirements is to have wireless sensors on windows connected to the Gallagher system. I was told i could use this Wireless Receiver. But do you know which sensor i could use? For example we have Ajax sensors on hand. Do you have any experience with this type of setup? look forward hearing from you.

I am looking for motion sensors that sit on my window cill that points out of window and can detect a person outside but only up to a few meters. I would like a buzzer that goes off but not a loud siren. I dont have Wifi for security risks as everything is multiple VLANs via ethernet cables. Can you please recommend what would be suitable to achieve this, Thank you

A bit of a long reach this one, but I'm trying to 'emulate' a keypad for a Scantronic 8136 panel. I've got as far as identifying it using a 150bit protocol of what seems to be long and short pulses on the signal wire done through releasing the signal wire from ground and letting the panel pull it back up to +14v for a period of time 150 times synchronised by a clock. I'm hoping to build on this so that I can control my antique alarm system from my phone! Anyone have any further information on how this works, as my attempts to play back the pulses (I think) I've copied are ignored by the panel, so I'm missing something!

There is not 1 intruder alarm sensor that can be used in all environments. For example a PIR cannot be used in rooms with fast acting heat sources. Whilst a Dualtec cant be used in close range to glass. I wrote a post detailing how they work and how to avoid common mistakes when choosing a detector technology as well as the manufacturer How Intruder alarm Movement detectors work

There is no real difference between an intruder alarm and a burglar alarm. A burglar alarm is often the phase that is used to describe an intruder alarm but intruder alarm is the more accurate term as not all unwanted intruders are burglars.
