Hi, I am interested in the Visonic Power master alarm to install in a carehome I look after. I have seen one of these systems before and it seems to work well. I need the system to have two door contacts, the most important feature the home is looking for is the door chime feature so I need this to be quite loud, is it? The alarm feature will be loud enough, they always are, this will only be set at night with no PIR required as there will be movement in the house, so still just the door sensors. I have fitted a challenger model before and the chime function was nowhere near loud enough so I am hoping this is better, it did seem to be on the one I seen. If not, is there a…

There is not 1 intruder alarm sensor that can be used in all environments. For example a PIR cannot be used in rooms with fast acting heat sources. Whilst a Dualtec cant be used in close range to glass. I wrote a post detailing how they work and how to avoid common mistakes when choosing a detector technology as well as the manufacturer How Intruder alarm Movement detectors work

There is no real difference between an intruder alarm and a burglar alarm. A burglar alarm is often the phase that is used to describe an intruder alarm but intruder alarm is the more accurate term as not all unwanted intruders are burglars.

Yesterday, I tried to plug the 8XE internal zone expander on my Premier 24, but it failed: the flash programming connector is longer than the expander support pillars. So it is not possible to clip the pillars. I can make photos if you need to better understand the issue. Please advise. Thanks! (I opened ticket # 24795 for that, but the answer was to ask on the support forum).

We have an old Scantronic 4600 alarm and want to be able to remotely set and unset the alarm. Do you sell a remote control device that will allow us to do this? We have a Scantronic 4605 UK-55 remote device but this seems to be able to set the alarm but not unset it which is a pain!

We're about to install an Accenta Mini Gen4 with conventional intruder detectors, remote keypads and an external bell sounder. We will also have a number of Menvier M12 smoke detectors on Zones 7 & 8 for 24-hour fire detection. If Zones 7 & 8 trigger, we're expecting the Accenta to display an appropriate alarm on the RKPs and do 2-sec on / 2-sec off signalling on the external bell box. If possible, we also wish to fit an all-in-one sounder / strobe unit in a specific room to ensure that the occupants understand that the "bells that they can hear ringing in the distance" are indicating a fire alarm (and that they should evacuate). We're uncertain if somethi…

Generally a beeping texecom alarm is caused by 2 things. Chime is enabled and it is beeping when a circuit activates or it has a fault. Texecom Turn Chime Off Press the musical note button on the keypad. The chime will be disabled immediately. To set up chime zones: Enter your 4-digit user code. Press MENU, then press TICK to confirm. Scroll through the menu and select Edit Chime Zones. Press TICK. Browse the zone list and highlight the zone you want to enable. Press X to toggle. The zone status will change from Silent to Chime. Press MENU, then RESET to save and exit. Diagnose…
