can any body advise i need a sensor to cover a gateway to either make or break a contact when somthing or some one breaks the beam the problem is its a 30m gap and i can only get a cable to one side so it has to be reflective or single beam i can get plenty that do 10 meters but cant find any the do 30meters and fed from one side only does any one have any idea makes model cheers nick

Just bought a Powermax+ with some sensors and a GSM module. I wonder if I can connect both the control panel and the GSM module to the same powersupply, thus reducing the number of wires needed. One possible solution would be to connect the power to the control panel, and then another wire from the control panel (2 wires at the same connectionpoint) to the GSM module. Another way would be to use some sort of "Y" connection to route power to both consumers.

Hello, My alarm panel has packed up so I'm replacing it. The bellbox has seen better days so replacing that as well. My original was a Scantronic 9448 so am going for the 9448EUR-90 control panel but can't decide which bellbox to go for. I'm stuck between Novagard 2 Merit , Ventcroft Compact Classic & Ventcroft Evolution. I want to know are they all compatable with my alarm system and which are reccomended? Thanks

hi i had a scantronic 9448+ style installed a number of years ago which has worked perfectly, but since the main fuse was knocked, the mains light on the panel does not illuminate and the panel does not power up. However, there is now a couple of lights on behind the keypad, which had all gone off after the main fuse was knocked out. Also, after the main fuse was knocked out there was a few weak noises from the panel...these have since stopped. Even trying to key in our code, there is no audible sound or any changes to the state of lifelessness. Can you advise us on how to remedy this problem, or suggest a 'like for like' replacement? Can securitywarehouse tell me what the cheapest bellbox they can find is? I was thinking of the honeywell ag6 or the esp acouta, I can only find an esp acousta for a tenner but it has a red lens and not blue. Could securitywarehouse price one up??

Hello all I am in need of ome help please. My alarm has had it's first fault in 15 years by showing a mains failiure on the keypad. I have traced the fault and found that the power supply/transformer is knackered. 240 is going in but nowt coming out. Does anyone know if it's possible to get replacement power supply/transformers and if so where from. Cheers all. PB

Hello, Some years ago I installed a couple of Tate alarm systems. These were fairly simplistic but allowed the external siren (and any internal sound bomb) to be disabled on night set. Since then I've moved over to the Pyronix Sterling 10 as I wanted a full text log. The Sterling is OK but had no means to disable the sirens on part set and the log has no date/time stamp. I'm moving house again and will be installing a new alarm. I want a system with a date and time log and the ability to turn off any internal siren and just have the normal speaker tone on activation. I've always felt that deafening and disorientating an intruder with a sound bomb is probably more …

Does the Texecom veritas R8+ you have listed on your site come with the LED keypad or the LCD?? I think you should do a special day were you have free delivery with your order . I'd order one form you but the VAT and postage adds up. Im only 14 too!

Hello can anybody give me some advice on adjusting the volume on the above alarm system to low, altering the volume adjustment on the PCB has no effect the volume tone is quite loud, I had an accenta 8 system previously installed and had the same problem?. Hi, I would like to fit a driveway alert (preferably wireless) so probably a narrow beam pir type thing, plus a gate openining alert. Basically when the gate opens or someone walks in the drive I would like a buzzer to go off inside the house. Is there an idiots kit?

What is the best course of action - I have a Homelink ( Scantronic) 75 Security System installed over 3 yrs ( the installers have gone bust and I cannot therefore get the original installers to maintain system) Over the last 6 months the system as gone down specifically - the passives batteries. Can I simply replace batteries with lithium AA cell batteries will this restore the system to normal functuality at the control panel or does the new batteries mean a total reset? Secondly, can I add further 2 passives (I believe I'd need the Scantronic 714R passive infra-red detector & transmitter) and a panic alarm or do I need professional installers due to complexity…

Hey, My old ademco accord has stopped working due to the transformer being broken. I am now looking to install a new system myself using existing wiring etc, but I'm not sure what system would be most suited and easiest to install. Hi, I'm looking to purchase three of these detectors: Bosch Blue Line ISM-BLD1-P Pet Friendly TriTech Detector I see from your site and the spec sheet that they are manufactured in three different frequencies. If I order three, are you able to supply three different frequencies? Three different frequencies would be ideal as the location of each detector may mean that their coverage may overlap. Hi just a quick question does the above control panel come with the ability to call or text you if your alarm has been activated or do you have to buy extra parts? As screwfix are advertising it comes with Voice alerts up to 3 telephone numbers when alarm is activated.

Hello, I have a Scantronic system consisting of a 9448 end station and 9427 RKP. I wish to add a further RKP and the only RKP apparently available is 9427EUR-80. Is this suitable?
