Intruder Alarms

Hi, Can I use the Optex PIRs with the GJD Digizone lighting controller? I want to use Outdoor PIRs that are not triggered by small animals. Thanks, Martin

I ordered 6 ea. Optex 15m x 15m, Digital Quad Zone Logic(78 zones), Plug-in EOL. However the Plug in EOLs were not included. Do I need to order them as An extra? Could you please help me?

I would like to exspand the system I have,which is PA 4 WIRED alarm (Friedland)to ad to the system with two OPTEX SAVER NEW QUAD PIR. Would this be suitable.The movement detectors I have,have got 6 connections in it.

Cannot get the Panel to do what the manual says it should on Power Up and Walk Test. I only have the Entry/Exit door switch wired to the panel to ensure easy diagnosis.

I purchased from you last year a optima 4 replacement panel as my existing panel stopped working. Now my external sounder is so quiet you can hardley hear it, Please can you advise if this could be a fault within the panel or is it the sounder itself. I have checked all connections and they are ok

We have a optima xL4 MICROPROCESSOR alarm system. This keeps going off at various times during the day. We enter the code and reset only for it to go off again. none of the sensors are lit up (they used to have a red light on them) Please can you help as we are been woken at ridculous times in the night and have 2 young children !

I purchased an ade Optima Compact alarm system which I have fitted all seemed fine until I tried to alter the customer code from **** it would not accept the change but stopped the system from working. I have tried resetting the system back to factory settings as outlined in the manual but it does not work when the alarm is powered up it goes right into alarm but no LED lights show (not even the battery power)and the code **** does not rest/stop the alarm.

I think I have damaged the PCB. It shorted as I was removing a connection when still live. I've replaced the blown fuse but, on rewiring, it alarms as soon as the system is set. I'm confident the wiring is correct & unit programming OK (I did a factory reset). There is no fault with the PIRs. Any suggestions on how to remedy?

fitted new panel no problems, but unable to get entry time to work full alarm goes off as soon as door opened . tried setting up as described in engineer's manual page 38 . Is it something I'am doing or is the panel faulty ?

Only zones 1,4,5 used .zone 1 is the exit/entry zone .All PIR detectors work on walk test and zone 1 works in chime mode.The alarm sets OK system bleeping until set . when the entry zone ( 1 ) operates it goes straight to alarm , after reset code entered the panel has zone 1 flashing only.

I am only using 6 zones & no PA. I have programmed zones 1-6 as used and 7 & 8 as unused. When I try the Walk Test as soon as I input '0' for the test, zones 7&8 LEDs light up and an intermittent tone sounds. Any ideas??

Was wondering if you can supply a simple remote panel for the Optima Plus 2

My problem is an Optima Compact giving spurious tamper alarms on the control panel. These are totally random and alerting the internal sounder not the outside alarm box when in day mode. The strobe flashes when this event occurs but as I say no alarm. When the system is set the alarm box works normally. On a suggestion I have changed the alarm panel battery . Spurious alarms from the panel seemed cured for 10 days but now have returned . Any possible answer to the issue appreciated.

Hi, Looking for a panel that can control a relay whereby when the alarm is set, e.g. when leaving the building, a signal is sent from the panel to a relay. This signal causes the relay to switch and so makes another device active. The signal stays continuous whilst the panel is set. Conversly, when the panel is un-set, the signal is withdrawn and so the relay becomes inactive. Looking for a low cost compact wired model preferrably. Which model do you recommend? Thanks

is it possibe to part set a system, silently, using a Honeywell easy set with key fob. If not , how is this acheived. I want to set/ unset the ground floor from the first floor, in the quickest and quietest way.

On 6/4/16 I purchased an Accenta mini Gen4 and several other items from you to update an old alarm system I had in the house. Installed the above and all worked fine. Yesterday I went to replace an old PIR and stupidly I forgot to power down the system first. Afterwards neither of RKP's or any of the PIR's worked, however the bell did. There is power to the PCB as the red light is on. Is there anything I could check, or is it liable to be the end of the PCB? Yours hopefully

Hi guys, I’m curently using a couple of Texecom RF 360 PIR sensors (from your good selves). I’ve had them in place for several years covering some common hall/landing areas, all good. Last year I got a cat… Even on pulse count=2 these sensors are not pet immune, and as a result I’ve had to stop arming the alarm, otherwise the cat will set off false alarms all the time. ? I need to stick with 360 ceiling mounted sensors as the wiring is in place inside a finished ceiling. I have a little void, so I could potentially change from surface to recessed flush mounting if necessary… Is there such a thing as a pet immune 360 ceiling PIR? would perh…

I bought Honeywell DT8012F5 and IS3012 sensors with Pet immunity but when my cat with (5Kgs) jumps to a table or to a sofa or when it walk on the table, it sets off the sensor. It already happened with both types of sensors in different rooms. Do you know why this is happening with Pet immunity sensors? How can I solve this?

Hi, I have a texecom PIR which has a normally closed relay, unfortunately I have a voice off device which plays MP3s when triggered. This requires a Normally Open input which closes to trigger the MP3. Is there an off the shelf device which would convert this PIR from Normally Closed to Normally Open input? Many Thanks

Hi, My friend has gone away and has had a power cut. She has a Scantronic 9448+ alarm system. The front panel is 9427 style. We can not reconnect her power as the alarm keeps sounding off. How do we re set her alarm in order to turn her power back on?

We are a new organisation in southern Spain, a couple of elderly ex-pats who have become sick of the growing number of burglaries in the area. It is working well as we purchase kits from the internet and we are installing them and then using local labour, responding via GSM and arriving on site within 4-6 minutes. It has proved very successful in its first 3 weeks. However,we have one problem which is causing us grief and we are unable to remedy it. We suffer from frequent power cuts here, sometimes the rapid ones on and off for several minutes, and that can be day or night. Hello, I resently puschased a PowerMater 10 alarm system from you and am now starting to install the equipment. There is a problem with the display on the master unit, it seems like it doesnt remove some of the characters and some texts looks really weird. For example, int the start screen it says "15:16EADY : " where i guess it should say "15:16 : READY ". If I have a fault it switches between "NOT READY TRBL" and "15:16EADY : " There are also some really strange characters for the zone naming when I try to add equipment to the system.
