DG
Hi! Bought a Visonic Powermax+ alarm from you and have run into some problems regarding master installer code and installer code. The problems shows on both the central unit and the keypad unit. When I installed the alarm, I (of course) changed the default codes to my own. However, as far as I can remember I only changed 2 codes where off one being the user code and the other one either the master installer or the installer code. Now I can't seem to access the alarm using the other alternative of installer codes. I would be glad if you could give me some hints to where I've gone wrong. The setting and fault behavior right now are as follows: 1. When first changing the installer code, I acted as written in the manual's figure 4.1a. However I can't seem to be able to change the master installer code as shown in figure 4.1c - only by using the installer code. The only option I get are how to change installer code - not the master installer code. 2. When running the setup according to figure 4.5, I can access all sub-levels except 35-38. I can access the levels listed in the note indicating that the code I entered are the master installer code. This is strange to me since, as written previous, I seem to be using the installer code. 3. When trying to clear the event log, I can't reach that level - only "list of event". In the text in figure 7 it indicates that the "clear event log"-level is only accessible through entering the "installer code". This seems ok if it hadn't been for my inability to access the master installer code as written i para 1 when it according to para 2 seems to be the master installer code that I'm really using. 4. When trying to access the supervision level in my keypad, I can't use any installer code - only my user code, which don't give me access to the real supervision levels as written in figure 8 in the manual for the MKP-150/151. None of the default codes work (all according to plan), so either there wasn't more than a default user and one either installer or master installer code. * Can you help me figure out if I'm using a master installer code or an installer code from my description above about how my alarm acts? * My keypad don't respond to either my installer/master installer code - why? Secware_Tech6
I would suggest you have programmed the codes incrorrectly somehow. You can default the codes. If you check the manaul it will tell you how. Alternativly if you let me know your order number ill send the procedure to your account email. SafeNet
If memory serves... the instructions only tell you how to default the panel AFTER entering Engineering.... check out one of the diagrams in the install guide... doesn't tell you, but points you in the right direction... If you have no joy with the diagram let me know and i'll dig a set of distructions out... Silly question, you say you've changed 2 codes, have you tried the master installer code However, as far as I can remember I only changed 2 codes where off one being the user code and the other one either the master installer or the installer code Regards Dave
Secware_Tech6
There is a jumper on the panel for this.
DG
Thanks for all help everyone! As an answer to SafeNet:s question: One of the codes were either the master installer code or the installer code. The other one was a user code. I've been looking through my papers that came with the kit. A strange thing is that in the quick start guide (which I didn't use much after checking the default codes) there were two default codes assigned. One labeled "user code" and the other one labeled "installer code". However, this installer codes numbers matched the numbers that were written as default master installer code in the full installer guide. A misprint or? When I try to change the master installer code, I never get this option - only to change the installer code. This installer code works however as an master installer code in many of the installer settings, and doesn't work as an installer code in other levels of settings. Still - I can only change an "installer code"...
DG
Hi again! Now I've tired to reset the codes using the jumper on the main board. The result...well, the user code I had were reset to default according to the quick guide. The other code were also reset to the default code. however, a third code didn't show up, so my problem still exists. I still don't know if I'm using a master installer code or an installer code. I can't clear the event log since my (master?) installer code doesn't give me access. I can't enter my 2-way key panel's installer settings since my (master?) installer code doesn't give me access. I'm suspecting that my Powermax+ only uses one installer code type as in the manual pic 4.1b. Might I be right about this? In that case - how do I get access to clearing the event log and accessing my key panel?
Secware_Tech6
You wont be able to clear the event log. There is a master installer code and a master code. The installer code is the higer level code. regarding the 2way kp's access. DO you have engineer access to the control panel using the onboard keypad?
