April 24, 201016 yr hello. I have a control panel to change witch is connected with BT redcare. I don't have any worries about changing the panel but would just like some info about the redcare. do i need to contact the ARC first and tell them what i am doing or is there something else i need to do first? thank you for your time. Dan
April 24, 201016 yr Id assume if its on redcare its under a current contract with another alarm co. If so i wouldnt recommend touching it at all. If its a police response system then you definetly shouldnt touch it. Is there anymore info as to what you have to do and why etc?
April 25, 201016 yr Author its only under a service contract not a maintenance contract. it states in the contract that a nother alarm company can do work to the system as long as they can still service it twice a year. its also not on police responce. its just using inputs 3 and 4 alarm and set.
April 25, 201016 yr its an unusual one then as the maintainer is liable for losses etc, so they should ensure only they or auth persons can work on it. However if you let the current alarm co now you are working on it the will be able to advise or put the system 'on test' at the arc. If you have engineer authority at the arc then you could do it.
