hi, recieved my Order today while applying power to the panel and connected the battery smoke started to come out the panel.. so i switched it off and contacted an alarm installer and told me the panel is faulty! while doing this the fuse for the battery burnt out! the battery is fine and just need the panel and keypad changed! thanks! the order number is #19740

This occurs when the battery is conneced the wrong way. ie reverse polarity.

If you disconnected it quick enough then the panel will be fine.

hi, i took special care when putting the battery in and did do it the correct way i also tried it without the battery and just the mains and it stills smokes! ithanks

DO you have a short on your 12v outputs or bell supplies?

 

I would disconnect everything from your panel incase you have a wiring fault.

 

can you post a picture of the panel and wiring etc.

I would advise checking for shorts etc. if you do have a wiring fault then the same thing may happen.

 

if you don't connect any powers or sounders etc then you can power the new panel up and test first.

 

hopefully it was a faulty panel.
