Quality of alarm cable

Featured Replies

I would say yes but it depends

as a rule our own branded cable will be fine but if your approaching limits (ie 1km cable runs etc) then good branded cable has its advantages.

A lot of people insist on high end branded equipment including cable.

if your running 20m runs under floor boards then you wouldnt have an issue. However the finish of the branded cables is better and its wound less tight so when clipping direct its easier to achieve a nice finish.

Hopefully that helps?

Thanks. Yes it does help.

I have one cable run of about 90m to do to an out building at the back of the garden via an underground conduit. So would you suggest that run would be better done using a branded cable?

you cant use normal intruder cable in an area that will be wet, over time pvc cables go pourus and you will have problems with any quality of cable. You need a direct burial or duct grade cable, unless its kept 100% dry. If its dry then id go with the better cable.
