ally Posted March 13, 2010 Posted March 13, 2010 please i am wanting to buy the scantronic 55 system however i have some questions - does this have a phone out feature via sim card or by bt line if it is triggered. does this accept pir / door contacts that have been used for an optima honeywell hard wired system since it is an 'hybrid' system... so that i might replace the optima and buy the wireless pir as and when i can. essentially i need a wireless system for a domestic use where i would have around 5 pir and couple of door contacts and smoke alarm external bell and key fob - is there anything other than the homelink 55 that is also suitable and fairly straightforward to use - set up and around
Secware_Tech6 Posted March 13, 2010 Posted March 13, 2010 the homelink wont do remote connections without an arc. so you would need to add a speech dialler to most panels. the risco / eurosec cpx has a wireless reciever option (making it hybrid) built in speech dialler etc so would probably be better suited to your application.
ally Posted March 14, 2010 Author Posted March 14, 2010 thanks for your reply. 1) i need some more help if possible so if i buy a eurosec cpx panel i could temporarily utilise the hard wired optima pirs and magnets? (which eurosec cpx panel model do you suggest?). 2) could you suggest the specific items i would need for a wireless system using a eurosec cpx panel , i estimate i need 5 pir, 2 magnets, external bell, additional keypad, keyfob, smoke/fire detector . 3) can any pir / magnets / external sounder working on the 800mhz frequency be compatible or are they panel specific? 4) i really would appreciate your input as i am looking to make a purchase . 5) thanks.
Secware_Tech6 Posted March 14, 2010 Posted March 14, 2010 1) Yes it has 8 zone inputs (which can be 'doubled' to 16) for conventional sensors 2) Most of the risco wireless devices ie http://www.securitywarehouse.co.uk/catalog/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=36_60&products_id=750 3) No they are manufacturer specific 4) ok 5) anytime ps the wireless reciever is http://www.securitywarehouse.co.uk/catalog/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=36_60&products_id=1149 Control panel is http://www.securitywarehouse.co.uk/catalog/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=579 you could also look at http://www.securitywarehouse.co.uk/catalog/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=1632 thats a G2 wireless galaxy kit, but only has digital coms built in (ie not a speech dialler)
ally Posted March 16, 2010 Author Posted March 16, 2010 hi thanks for the great advice and help, im moving towards the g2 set up (so far preferred overall) - however i am also looking at the wireless Honeywell Domonial Wireless 2 PIR Kit 2, which would probably need a 'professional' fitting (reading your other posts regarding this system). http://www.securitywarehouse.co.uk/catalog/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=1132 can you tell me what the cheapest external sounder would cost that would be compatible with this system (other than the one at
Secware_Tech6 Posted March 17, 2010 Posted March 17, 2010 The domonial is 'tricky' to program so unless you have had the training then i would suggest it wasnt for you. The domonial is a 'wireless only' produce so you can only use domonial equipment on it. It is an excellent product but unless you have the training id avoid.
ally Posted March 17, 2010 Author Posted March 17, 2010 i think youve settled all of my questions . thanks for all the help and advice. now - to go and look at the g2 .
