GPH01
Hi All, Hoping to order from securitywarehouse.co.uk in next few days but do have a few questions I hope they could help me with please? Property currently has an ADE Accenta 8 Mini fitted, but want to replace with Optima Compact Gen4 as something has blown on the 8 Mini PCB... system is 10 years old, will the current (s)elf ©ontrolled (B)ell work with this newer Optima Compact Gen4? Does the Optima Compact Gen4 come with backup battery or is this a seperate purchase? And finally, has anyone any opinions on this alarm or have a link to the wiring for it please? Many thanks in advance. GPH01
Secware_Tech6
The current bell should be fine, however some older bells (ie solonoid based) will damage newer system. However id assume as you had an optima before that it is a modern type sounder and as such should be fine. No the unit does not come with a battery, and only a 2.1-2.3 A/h will phsically fit inside the control panel. It wires the same as the old optima, its a double pole based system so will wire identically. Support
GPH01
Tech, many many thanks for the prompt and informative reply. I am a little concerned about the bell, will have to find out if it is solonoid based. My old system was an ADE Accenta 8 Mini not an optima - or are they the same thing? Cheers again for any additional advice. regards GPH01
Secware_Tech6
Basically the same system, optima has onboard keypad, accenta does not. Gen 4 optima / accenta are very similar. If you can find out the bell brand and model, i may know it. James
GPH01
Cheers James & co! Not sure of bell brand and model but it is not an old 'ding ding' bell, its a flatbox siren so I am 99% sure it will be compatible as worked fine with the Accenta 8 Mini. Am ready to place an order for a new alarm and also a backup battery, but just one last thing please... I could do with another battery for a different alarm and would appreciate you letting me know which battery I need please (only if you know). The alarm is an 'SL Compact'. That is all I know, but maybe a photo could help you identify it? Its been fitted for about 9 years. It would be great if you did know what battery I need for this other alarm, as soon as I read something back I will place my order. Thanks again for all your help, it is making the whole order process alot easier. Cheers. GPH01
Secware_Tech6
GPH That is an optima compact. Id say its a G3 model. The SL compact was a rebadge, but that is definetly an optima. Again that size enclosure will only accept a 2.1-2.3 A/h even though the pcb and transformer are caperble of more. James
