Generally a beeping texecom alarm is caused by 2 things. Chime is enabled and it is beeping when a circuit activates or it has a fault. Texecom Turn Chime Off Press the musical note button on the keypad. The chime will be disabled immediately. To set up chime zones: Enter your 4-digit user code. Press MENU, then press TICK to confirm. Scroll through the menu and select Edit Chime Zones. Press TICK. Browse the zone list and highlight the zone you want to enable. Press X to toggle. The zone status will change from Silent to Chime. Press MENU, then RESET to save and exit. Diagnose A Texecom System Fault If it’s a system fault that’s causing the beeping, your keypad will show a fault message. The beep will continue until the fault is fixed. Make a note of the fault displayed, this can also be retrieved from the texecom panel log Try entering your 4 digit code, then RESET. For further assistance create a new topic in the support forum listing the equipment type and fault reported.

The default user code for texecom systems is '4321' but it may have been changed.

Due to the chnage of elevation (ie top and bottom of stairs your really going to need 2 sensors. A corridor sensor on a bracket may work well but isnt designed to angled that way. Also bear in mind the link you provided is a intruder alarm sensor not for switching 240v. It could be connected to a relay and suitable power source though. If doing that id recommend a voltek system as they provide adjustable low voltage sensors and it will be easier to run a low voltage alarm cable to the sensors from where the current switching is taking place. Please see attached images of our set-up. You can see in the white circle that the PIR fitting is located above the main door on the ground floor. Currently, it only activates when someone reaches the 4th step (both going up and down the stairs). We need the PIR sensor to: Activate the lights when someone walks through the main door on the ground floor. Also activate when someone is coming down the stairs from the 1st floor. The distance from the ground floor to the 1st floor is approximately 9 metres, but with an incline. Please could you advise on a suitable solution, or confirm whether the link provided above would work for this setup? Many thanks,

Yes images would be useful to get a better understanding. ALso a drawing where you want detector coverage? You can upload them here

I’m looking for a PIR sensor that can detect movement both from the bottom and the top of a staircase. Our current sensor is positioned on the wall above the door at the bottom of the staircase, but it only detects movement when someone is about four steps from the bottom. This is creating a safety risk, as the lights aren’t activating until a person walking down is already quite close to the bottom. The staircase is approximately 9 metres long. I have images I can share — please let me know an email address where I can send them. I was looking at the following item and was wondering if it would work for my requirements, or if you could recommend a product that would be more suitable for my situation. Thank you! https://www.securitywarehouse.co.uk/catalog/intruder-alarm-equipment-c-36/movement-detectors-c-36_116/all-c-36_116_37/optex-cx702-21m-wide-or-45m-long-pir-p-157.html

There is not 1 intruder alarm sensor that can be used in all environments. For example a PIR cannot be used in rooms with fast acting heat sources. Whilst a Dualtec cant be used in close range to glass. I wrote a post detailing how they work and how to avoid common mistakes when choosing a detector technology as well as the manufacturer How Intruder alarm Movement detectors work

You can add a radio expander to this panel via the bus. Then compatible smoke detectors can be added. To use a call point you would need a clean switch model and add external eol resistors. A speech dialler can be directly connected to one of the programmable outputs. But this would not make it a complaint fire alarm. If BS5839 is required you will need to use a compliant fire alarm panel.

Eaton I-on 10-50 Zone Expandable control panel https://www.securitywarehouse.co.uk/catalog/intruder-alarm-equipment-c-36/security-control-panels-c-36_102/110-input-zone-small-c-36_102_101/eaton-ion-1050-zone-expandable-control-panel-p-5752.html Will this work with radio smoke detectors? Is this compatible with manual fire alarm call points? And finally will this need some sort of relay box to work with a speech dialer? Thanks.

How do I omit a zone on a Scantronic 9651 with 9941 keypad?
Secware_Tech6 replied to secware3's topic in Intruder Alarms
Omitting Zones Your system may be programmed so that you can omit individual detectors. Ask your Installer which zones can be omitted. To omit a zone: 1. Key in your access code or present a tag and press X. The display shows: Omit Zone? 2. Press the number of the zone you want to omit (for example, key in 07 to omit zone 7). 3. Press Y. The sounder gives a double beep and the display shows the zone number followed by an "o": Note: Omit Zone? Omit Zone 07o If the display shows a “x” after the zone number then you cannot omit that zone. To omit further zones repeat steps 2 and 3. 4. Press X to finish. To set the system with an omitted zone: 5. Key in your access code (or present a tag) and press a Level key.. 6. The control unit gives an error tone and the display shows (for example): A:Omit Zone 07? 7. Press Y. If necessary, press Y again for each omitted zone shown on the display. (If you wish to escape press X.) After you press Y for the final omitted zone the control unit starts to set. -
I am working on a project with one of our clients. We are installing Gallagher system for them - https://security.gallagher.com/. One of their requirements is to have wireless sensors on windows connected to the Gallagher system. I was told i could use this Wireless Receiver. But do you know which sensor i could use? For example we have Ajax sensors on hand. Do you have any experience with this type of setup? look forward hearing from you.

I am looking for a 2 or 3 camera system for continuous recording
Secware_Tech6 replied to secware3's topic in CCTV
Hi Solar powered cameras are usually diy type products and not professional grade. There are solar options but due to the size and cost and usually specialised. Plus you will need to run some sort of wifi transmitter as well as the camera. You will also need to consider the time the camera and any ir emitter will have to function during hours of darkeness and low recharge output in the winter, -
Hi, I am looking for a 2 or 3 camera system for continuous recording, web access (via a phone app I assume?), and at least 1 solar powered wireless camera. Can you help?

What size battery should I use in Burglar Alarm Panel

The aritech se sirs require either a compatible panel or an analyser. You may be better off with a knight combined unit

As above converters are not designed or tested for this purpose. It may work 80% of the time but may not when actually needed. You need a communicator designed for ip or gsm

Unfortunately we cannot confirm this, as it has not been tested by us. There are many telephone adapters and routers themselves, that can simulate PSTN lines, however , there is no guarantee our PSTN products, including the SD1+, will function correctly, as they were never designed to work on this type of arrangement/digital line. You should also be aware that the SD1+ is obsolete and have been replaced by the SD-LTE; Eaton Universal 4G speech dialler [SD-LTE] - £240.00 : | Best Price Promise | Security Warehouse Professional products Kind Regards, Security Warehouse Technical Support

Will my SD1+ still work when BT goes digital?

Yes you will need a compatible lock case to suit the door type

I want to specify a Paxton Pro Standalone unit for a FD60 exit door. What lock should i specify for best compatibility? Do you supply a mortice latch/lock/lever unit that works with it?
