  6. Hi there, I am currently in the process of renovating a house and I am looking to install a fire detection system that not only meets building regulations for a three-story house but also offers higher protection than the minimum LD3 level. In the past, I have used a Honeywell Galaxy panel with fire zones, but that was a few years ago, and I am sure there have been advancements since then. I've been considering the C-Tec Hush Pro solution, but I'm concerned about nearing the 16-device limit. Running the cables around the house in a single run seems feasible, especially with the ceilings down and floors up, but I'm wondering if a larger 2-wire panel with a loop per floor might be a more practical option. Additionally, I'm curious if, like with the Hush solution, this can be achieved using 3-core + earth cables rather than FP cables. Alternatively, would an intruder alarm with fire zones still be a better option for a DIY setup? I would greatly appreciate any suggestions or recommendations you might have on what I could consider. It would be especially useful to have the option of using outputs for further home automation and remote app monitoring, as I have previously used Selfmon for similar purposes. Thank you in advance.
  7. I dont know of a manufacturer that supplies boards only. But may be available as a special order. Usually one would replace the whole sounder to keep it looking as new as spossible as this is the detterent
  8. Yes you will need a usb to serial converter. Or a PCI card supporting 232 serial
  9. You do enable / disable the circuits you want in each part set.
  10. the newer hkc micro rf sensors can be hidden if there is sufficient space. But will require a hkc panel

  17. Hi, we have constructer a community hall with aluminium windows and doors. Do you have a door and window sensor which can be wired into the building security alarm or wireless which can be concealed in the frame? The Client does not like surface mounted door alarm sensors.
  18. Moved into a property a few years back and alarm works fine, however I want to alarm the garage alone so I thought maybe I could use Part Set programme 2 to do this. All went well until I tried to omit zones or even make them used or unused it worked quite well the first time but when I set it again all the zones have reverted to previous setting. I just want the garage zone active in programme 2. How can I make this permanent? I have tried in Engineers mode as well. Help would be appreciated. Cheers Clive

  20. Can you please confirm if I can connect my euro 76 panel using R/S 232 loom to my PC Also do I need tobuy converter to USB as my pc does not have serial connections

  22. The Scantronic Sounder External Wired Backplate, SDR-WEXT-G2, installed a few years ago worked perfectly until about a week ago, when I noticed that the 'comfort LEDs' had stopped working. On further investigation the unt does not sound the siren when an alarm condition is triggered, although the internal Scantronic 9651PD does. On opening the external sounder box its cover tamper switch does not trigger the external siren but again it does trigger the 9651PD. On further investigation, the internal battery of the external sounder is fully charged, therefore I suspect the sounder circuit board is faulty. Are replacement circuit boards available for this unit as I don't want to have to replace the whole external sounder box?
  23. Its a detector, would need to be part of a solution.
  24. Re the cctv do you have a preffered brand? Agree on the toy town stuff most budget equipment is exactly that. Alarm system wise again i dont know your expereience or preffered equipment?

  26. Hi I am a residential customer, looking for a CCTV system, American dynamics I am aware of. I have a commercial background so do not want something that is ‘toys are us’. Initially I want two external cameras, 360 degrees, night & day, zoom as discrete as possible. They need to be hard wired to the recorder, which can then be accessed by wi fi but not wi fi cameras if you catch my drift. Also is the facility available for sound recording? I.e if someone is standing outside a property shouting is it possible to capture real time video and sound recordings that could be used in legal proceedings ? In addition to this I will be wanting an alarm I have used Banham in the past, but not that impressed, again hard wired. Please could you let me know your thoughts ?
