  1. thanks, i'll check it again this weekend and hopefully i'll discover something!
  2. checked for corrosion and there doesn't appear to be any. it's more of a summer house than a shed so it is fully insulated and heated as it get used a few times a week. what I can't understand is why it happened just when I entered the code, if there had been some kind if break in the PA circuit I could have happened at anytime whilst it was set.
  3. been through them all again today, but no joy. the system has worked flawlessly for the last couple of years so I can't figure out what could have happened.
  4. Having searched numerous forum posts I'm at a total loss, so I thought I'd try asking... I have a Honeywell Optima Alarm system (8EP396A panel with a 8EP417A LCD Keypad and a single PIR sensor) for my shed. When I entered this morning and entered the code the alarm sounded but every time I entered the correct code the alarm would briefly stop and then sound again. the only way I found to stop it is power it down and remove the battery. I only have about a second to see the fault, which is coming up as a PA fault. but the PA connection on the panel has a link cable closing the system (I assume this means it's not in use?) I've tried doing a reset of the system, but nothing seems to work. As soon as I power it back up the alarm sounds again Any help would be greatly apreciated
