The Galaxy Dimension 48 would meet most of this with the exception of the cameras. I wouldn't advise internet connected cameras internal to any home anyway.

Galaxy G2 series can have virtual keypad control. Probably about the cheapest panel/Ethernet combination available.

Go with a Texecom Odyssey 3E - much louder/better than the Honeywell AG8.

If you want the sensor to trigger a phone call/SMS, that is done by the contact outputs being connected to a standard dialer or GSM message sending device. The GSM/Dialer would simply warn that something had happened. A good addition to remote CCTV in order that you can connect remotely and determine the cause of the trigger.

With the on-board dialer It can send events to Vodafones TAP dial up service at 17p per message. Not advisable if you want more than just burglary events reported. With the GSM module it can send SMS as long as a valid SIM card is used and kept in credit. With the IP module it can also send to selfmon self monitoring platform which then sends sms/email/voice.

If you search for self monitoring on the Galaxy, you can do all of this with the IP modules. Still requires a third party, but low cost and makes the IP module worth while.

The Honeywell Galaxy range can also do this also. Simply add Ethernet or GSM module to report this off site via IP service.

The Galaxy events are probably too slow to provide 'lights on' type information. There are applications available to control via phone and webserver. It's tecnically possible to get individual zone status over TCP, but unlikely on the other protocols without a translator.

You need to disable the line fail voltage monitor. Menu option: 56.1.10.1

You're really looking for a combined home automation package. Normally, the part where you can independently monitor the status of all the systems zones would be external to the keypad Ie. running on a PC. Although, with current touchscreen technology, many suppliers have an LCD wallmount offering. This all comes at quite a high price though. If SW don't do them, you can look at somewhere like RS. 524-5589 for example. Or search the web for "normally open magnetic contact" and you'll find a few. They're not active components.

You're after a hybrid panel. I only really deal with the Galaxy range from Honeywell, but there are many others. The Galaxy G2 range are worth a look if you're tech savvy. Cheers,

The Dimension range are all in the same enclosure and it's pretty much the same as the G3 panels. 440x350x90. That's slightly shallower than the G2 range, but almost twice the size overall! That means that there's plenty room in the Dimension enclosure for additional RIO/Ethernet modules and up to two 17Ah batteries The G2 range has room for at least one RIO module when you fit a 7Ah battery. You could get more modules in there depending on how you mounted them. It would probably be a push with 4. Obviously, RF based modules need to be mounted outwith the metal enclosure in their plastic housings. When mounting a RIO PCB inside the panel, you will have to link out the on-board tamper switch. I've seen this done with a cable tie before, but would advise that you do it properly and solder a wire link on the PCB. If you plan to do more with your panel at a later stage Ie. Connect via computer. Then be aware that the G2 range has limited functionality compared to G3 and Dimension when connecting with the RSS software. This doesn't seem to be mentioned anywhere in the literature... Cheers,

It gives a ground return for the tamper and both strobe and siren are triggered by pulling their signals to ground. EN50131 European Standards For Intruder Alarm Systems Grade 3 is for a reasonably substantial risk property. There is good reason to assume it may be broken into and might well contain objects of high value. An intruder is likely to gain access by penetrating doors, windows or other openings. I always go for the TCE. Just think it's better to avoid any false alarms if for only a couple of pounds more. Never had a problem with them. If you're in a culdesac, or have houses opposite, then the single piezo is okay. I usually go for 115dB twin piezo's and a decent internal siren. Cheers,

I'm afraid I can't help much with the Gardtec's. Have a look here for a programming manual for a panel in the range. You'll find something. http://www.impsecurity.co.uk/downloads/ Do you have the additional hybrid receiver ? Or is it a separate RF sensor wired into the panel ? If it's the hybrid, then you really need the PR5588 manual. Couldn't find it myself though. Stu.

I do not believe the Prestige IR sensors have the EOL resistors incorporated within the sensor. It's a lower cost sensor, so wouldn't expect it to. There's nothing to stop you using EOL or non-EOL sensors with the panel though. You can: 1. Set the panel for normally closed operation and do not fit the resistors. 2. Fit one 10k resistor at the sensor and set the panel to "American" operation. 3. Fit one 33k resistor at the sensor and set the panel to "European" operation. 4. Fit one 10k and one 22k resistor at the sensor and set the panel to "High Security" operation. **My preference** Just check the installation manual. Simples! Stu.

The odyssey 3, 3E and 3M all come with twin alternating LED's. The 3E has 109dB output from a single Piezo, where the louder 3 and 3M have twin Piezo's giving a decent 115dB. Stu.
