Looks like all the 500R and accessories are now all history. The date shown in the quote taken direct from Scantronic, and is an indication that if you can get hold of any, it's liable to be very old stock..
As for what to do, either upgrade to the ION range(or similar) or relocate an existing pir.
500r Range date added 11.2.09

If memory serves... the instructions only tell you how to default the panel AFTER entering Engineering.... check out one of the diagrams in the install guide... doesn't tell you, but points you in the right direction... If you have no joy with the diagram let me know and i'll dig a set of distructions out...
Silly question, you say you've changed 2 codes, have you tried the master installer code
However, as far as I can remember I only changed 2 codes where off one being the user code and the other one either the master installer or the installer codeRegards Dave

Doubt it's a replacement.. the 710 and 730 are external sirens(ip55) and the 720 is internal
-
Ah yes.. I think I missed the point there..
My bad.. lol
-
It all depends what you consider heavy duty... the SC517 is the "normal" size i'd say..
Whats it for?

Depending what you're wanting it for... the Optex BX-80N has 180 degree upto 24mtrs (12mtrs each way)...if it's for security or camera's.. probably not much good for lighting though.. There's even a battery version... Not sure if it's allowed, Admin please remove if not, but the website gives more info www.optex-europe.com and search BX-80N.

Try opening the bell cover without putting the siren in to hold off mode... If it goes off it's probably a damaged cable.
-
If you have to ask this question... don't open the control panel... pick up the phone and call someone to do it for you... who knows what they're doing.. but if you must DIY turn off the mains first..before opening...only power up when you've replaced the front... come on people HSE is watching !!!

Sounds to me like you've not closed a cover fully..very temperamental on scantronic . just take a few minutes to check them all again... or better still what zone(s) are lit up showing tamper?
If non are showing, check front cover of panel, or siren if you've opened these.
Also if you replace the system with a new 500R depending on how old the current system is, it may not be compatible..(Check frequencies 418/433/868).
But if you get a new panel it will be on the 868 now... Having said that just been to look an their site and it's only showing data from 2008, and it says frequency is 433.. but all the ones i've fitted in the last 18 months have been 868.

The manual for the SD1 doesn't have the advanced options 4 to 9, and the date is for a new model SD1+, also the SD1 doesn't have a code option so the quote "I still cannot progress beyond creating a 'NEWCODE'." should have given some indication to model. Also re-reading the first message, "quote" "Again from 'READY', if I press 'O' 'CLEARBY' is indicated. But pressing 'B', 'CLEARBY' still remains on the LCD!". I haven't tried this as I don't have any models with the bit switch on, but reading from the manual (installation not operators), it defaults to "clear by no-one" (if you have the switch of course)..
Just a thought... do you have the installation instructions or just the operators??? If you do, goto section 9.

Does your model have the 4 way option bit switch it? if so, just check all are in the off position (UK and Ireland - Security mode (I'm assumming your in the UK with the model SD1+(UK))). If switch 4 is on, it is set for Fire mode and is set to default phone number of 999 and you only have one message available. If you don't have the switch it's probably a faulty unit.
[Ticket Question] Do you stock a keypad for the Scantronic 7400?
in Intruder Alarms
Posted
7400??? do you mean 4700?? is it wireless?? and is the keypad on the main box or a remote?? (if remote it'll probably say 4725 on it)..
If not I've never heard of it..sorry..so i'll be quiet.
